1. Raise Your Ranks in Paradise

Quran memorization is among the good deeds that open the door for you to the highest ranks of Paradise.

‘Abdallāh b. ‘Amr reported God’s messenger as saying, “The one who was devoted to the Qur’ān will be told to recite carefully as he recited when he was in the world, for his rank is based on the last verse he recites.” Ahmad, Tirmidhī, Abū Dāwūd and Nasā’ī transmitted it.

2. Great Rewards from Allah for Each Letter

Quran reciter gets a reward (Hasana) for each letter he recites. So, imagine how much you'd earn if you've memorized a part of the Quran, let alone the whole book.

Ibn Mas'ud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will be credited with one reward, and one reward would be multiplied to a ten-fold reward. I do not say that Alif-Lam-Mim is one letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter, and Mim is a letter." [At- Tirmidhi].

3. An Honor for Parents on the Day of Judgment

Not just memorizing the Quran is a noble act for the memorzier (Hafiz), but also an honor for his parents, whose proper upbringing encouraged him to do so.

A hadith of the messenger of Allah shows the rewards for those parents.

Mu'adh al-Juhani reported the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as saying:

If anyone recites the Qur'an, and acts according to its teachings, on the Day of Judgement, his parents will wear a crown whose light is more radiant than that of the world. So what do you think of who acts according to this?” (Ahmad and Abū Dāwūd transmitted it).

4. Protection from Hellfire

Quran memorization salvages you from the fire on the day of judgment.

Uqba b. ‘Amir said he heard God's messenger say, “If the Qur’ān were put in a skin and thrown into the fire, it would not burn.” Dārimī transmitted it.

However, memorizing the Quran should be devoted fully to Allah’s pleasure, not to be flattered by people, since this intention can cause Allah’s wrath, and the person who does this will be a hypocrite.

5. Strengthen your Bond with Allah

Of course, not only memorizing the Quran will bring you closer to Allah because a true Muslim should stick to Allah’s command in each verse he recites.

However, being close to Quran will soften up your heart and drives you to closely observe your sins and ask Allah for forgiveness or even avoid sins as much as possible.

Many people found that their connection with Allah grew better when they started the habit of Quran memorization. This effect is more doubled when you surround yourself with peers who share the same goal of Quran hifz just like you and faithfully shore you up.

6. Be Among the Best People

Allah loves the one who recites and memorizes the Quran, as shown in the hadith narrated by Anas bin Malik:

The Messenger of Allah said:

Allah has His people who chose among all mankind.' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, who are they?' He said: 'The people of the Qur'an, the people of Allah and those closest to Him.'"

7. Be Imam for the Praying People

Prayer is among the five pillars of Islam and the most important of them.

For Being Imam, the person who leads people in Salat, you must memorize the Quran as a hadith of the prophet Mohammed shows:

Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "A man who is well versed in the Book of Allah and can recite it better should lead the Salat (prayer); (Muslim).

8. Improves your Mind and Memory

No doubt that memorizing the Quran has a positive impact on boosting human memory.

Many studies have shown that Memorizing a large quantity of text improves the mind's capacity to recall information and strengthens brain health.

Dr. Haneen Jarrar, a child psychologist at Camali Clinic, said that: working memory is improved by almost memorizing anything. That's why doctors advise Aged people whose memory is in the abyss to falter to do crossword puzzles.

She even recalled the story of his mother, whose memorizing the Quran helped her memory function better, not to mention its magnificent divine rewards.

9. Purify your Soul

Quran memorization keeps you closer to Allah and helps you transcend the physical blessings of life by tasting Allah’s verses and letting them infiltrate deep into your heart.

The effects of memorizing the holy book on the soul are tremendous. Quran is a cure and assurance for feared hearts, and the messenger Mohammed matched the heart void of the Quran with a ruined house.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Indeed, the one who does not have the Qur'an inside him (his heart) is like the ruined house.

10. Lead a Life with Purpose

It’s assumed that people who have a great purpose are more to lead a far more meaningful and fulfilling life.

Some people, for example, dedicate their lives to charitable activities. Others seek to teach people how to read. While the vision of Purpose may vary dramatically among different people, its effect is still the same.

So, no surprise if you find someone embarking on memorizing Quran because it fuels their life with meaning and makes them feel that they don’t live a vain life.

11. Accompany yourself with Angles

The one who memorizes Quran enjoys the accompany of angles as a hadith Narrated by Aisha says:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Such a person as recites the Qur'an and masters it by heart, will be with the noble righteous scribes (in Heaven). And this who exerts himself to learn the Qur'an by heart, and recites it with great difficulty, will have a double reward." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

12. Safety from Al Masikh Al Dajal

Propet Mohammed said that  Masikh Al Dajal is one of the mind-blogging trials Muslims have to deal with, for he makes great miracles that might strike people and tempt them into infidelity.

For this reason, the messenger of Allah has ascribed to us many recipes that help rescue us from this evil, including seeking refuge from Allah against him and memorizing the opening verses in Surah Al-Kahf.

Prophet Muhammed said in a hadith:

“Whoever memorizes ten 'Ayat (Verses) from the beginning of Surat Al-Kahf, will be protected from the False Messiah “ Muslim.

13. Quran is Interceder for his Reciter

Many hadith narrated by the prophet act as proof that the Quran intercedes for the reciter on the day of resurrection.

Abū Umāma said that he heard God’s messenger say, “Recite the Qur’ān, for on the day of resurrection it will come as an intercessor for those who recite it Muslim transmitted it.

“Recite the two shining ones, Baqara and sūra Āl Imrān (Qur’ān, 2 and 3). for on the day of resurrection they will come as two clouds or two shades, or two flocks of birds in ranks* pleading for those who recite them. Muslim transmitted it.

“Recite sūra al-Baqara, for it brings blessing, and its abandonment produces regret, and only the slothful are unable to recite it.” Muslim transmitted it.

14. Quran Memorzier is Envied by People

Allah forbids envy in general and ordered his prophet to keep his eyes away from what Allah blessed over his servants.

Envy is allowed only when used to encourage people to compete to better their connection with Allah, like envying Quran memorzier as a drive to copy him.

“Narrated Salim's father The Prophet (ﷺ) said:

Not to wish to be the like of except the like of two (persons): a man whom Allah has given the knowledge of the Qur'an and he recites it during the hours of the night and the hours of the day; and a man whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it (in Allah's Cause) during the hours of the night and during the hours of the day."

15. Quran is a Cure for Heart Diseases

Allah said in surah Yunes, verse 57

“O humanity! Indeed, there has come to you a warning from your Lord, a cure for what is in the hearts, a guide, and a mercy for the believers.

Life is full of temptation that changes people’s hearts, attacking them with envy, arrogance, lethargy, and hatred. Nobody is fully fortified against those spiritual diseases. When they grow deeper, they can turn one’s life into an unbearable hell.

Here’s why Quran is ascribed as a cure for it’s proved powerful in healing heart diseases, bringing people closer to Allah, and driving them to realize the deep meaning of their lives.

16. Increases your Eloquence in Speech

Quran memorization improves your ability to use words in the proper contexts, which would enhance your capacity for expression.

Allah said in surah Kahf, verse 109

“Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “If the ocean were ink for ˹writing˺ the Words of my Lord, it would certainly run out before the Words of my Lord were finished, even if We refilled it with its equal.”

So, it’s a natural result that when you memorize it, its verses stick to your mind, and you can easily recall it to communicate an idea or support evidence, which makes your speech more vivid and eloquent.

17. Pray without a Need for Mushaf

When you memorize Quran, it became much easier to recite it without Mushaf. I.e, when you drive for your work, or preparing dinner in the kitchen, even when you pray at night.

Several people complain about being absent-minded during prayer, and the ultimate logic behind that mind, when accustomed to repeating a habit for a long time, loses concentration. Solution? Building up a new habit.

While you might feel easily distracted when you’re reciting the same verses daily, that’s not the same when you start memorizing new verses or surahs and use them during prayer.

18. Quran Memorizer is Buried First

There’s a hadith of the prophet Mohammed that demonstrates the Quran memorizer has been granted priority in burial more than others.

Jabir said God’s messenger had each pair of those killed at Uhud wrapped in a single garment and asked which of them knew more of the Qur’an. When one of them was pointed out to him, he had him put first in the side of the grave, and he said, “I shall be a witness to these men on the day of resurrection.” He ordered that they should be buried without the marks of the blood being removed; he did not pray over them, and they were not washed.

.

19. Memorizing the Quran is Better than Life’s Blessings

Uqba b. ‘Āmir said:

When we were in the Suffa (A kind of verandah at the mosque in Medina where certain poor people lived) God’s messenger came out and asked, “Which of you would like to go out every morning to Buthān or al-‘Aqīq (Two wādis not far from Medina where camels were sold) and bring two large-humped she-camels without being guilty of sin or severing ties of relationship?”

We replied, “Messenger of God, we would all like that.”

He said, “Does not one of you go out in the morning to the mosque and teach or recite two verses of God’s Book? That is better for him than two she-camels and three verses are better for him than three she-camels and four verses are better for him than four she-camels, and so on than their numbers in camels.”

It’s important to note that She-camel in the prophet’s time was one of the highest wealthies that equal today the expensive ships.

20. Deserve Allah's Throne of Honor

Quran Hafiz is rewarded with the crown of nobility on the day of judgment, as a hadith shows.

the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "The one who memorized the Qur'an shall come on the Day of Judgement and (the reward for reciting the Qur'an) says: 'O Lord! Decorate him.

" So he has donned a crown of nobility. Then it says: "O Lord! Give him more!' So he is donned with a suit of nobility. Then it says: "O Lord! Be pleased with him.' So He is pleased with him and says: "Recite and rise, and be increased in reward with every Ayah.'"
